LG W41 Pro pros and cons

LG W41 Plus Review, Pros and Cons – A few days ago, LG announced one of its budget segment lineups. The series includes a trio of the W41 series. Although, the nomenclature may seem strange this time. However, they tend to implement a unique name for each storage variant. As the basic variant consists of LG W41 and LG W41 Pro comes with 4/64 GB and 6/128 GB variants, and the LG W 41 Plus smartphone comes with 4/128 GB.

LG could have made a single phone model with different storage options but placed it in a way that three variants with different names and storage options. This will definitely leave you confused, the specifications are the same on all 3 smartphone models, except storage. However, different smartphone model names do not change the fact that all three of these devices are the same. We have already review LG W41 and W41 Pro. Check them in the meantime.

The LG W41 Plus was released on February 22 and is sold exclusively at the LG store. You will not find this phone in an online store until it is officially revealed. However, you can order directly from the nearest LG store. Apparently, there is no word on being released on the global stage, and you won’t notice the 5G connectivity here.

Now, let’s look at the LG W41 Plus review and find out whether it’s worth buying or not.

LG W41 Plus Review

Highlights

  1. Like all ordinary smartphones, the phone comes in a plastic body with a 6.55 inches IPS LCD panel.
  2. The distribution of the camera follows this way, a 48 MP primary camera with 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP lens for macro and, finally, a 2MP depth lens.
  3. As for the front, the 8MP selfie camera with a single notch is ready to capture your precious life moments.
  4. Under the hood, LG W41 Plus smartphone is powered by the Helio G35 chipset that processes a peak clock speed of 2.3 GHz.
  5. On the positive side, a Li-Po 5000 mAh battery conforms to the flow of energy around the phone.

Design and Display

The choice of two-tone colors gives the phone an elegant and attractive look at first glance. On the other hand, it is very difficult to say that the W41+ is covered by a polycarbonate body. There are not many options in the shades available. You must choose either Laser Blue or Magic Blue.

Both have a unique design and an exciting layout that is sure to catch your eye. If you want an elegant design, you should prefer the Magic Blue variant, as it is a mixture of dark colors. While the Blue laser arrives with vigorous colors. The second noteworthy thing about this device may be its dedicated AI button that allows you to connect with Google Assistant right away.

The layout structure says a lot about the phone. The biometric scanner is present on the back instead of the side panel, which is quite disappointing because it is the trend that makes the phone stand out from a standard device. Anyway, speaking of the front screen, the small notch did not cover much space.

After enhancing the beautiful LG technology on the screen, you will have an immersive viewing experience, even though it is a 6.55 inches IPS LCD HD+ panel. As for the size of the screen, you will not feel any setting while watching movies and series on the web. Surprisingly, the chin is quite thin and the screen is capable of providing decent brightness settings. However, it did not receive any gorilla glass protection.

Memory and Internal

The Android 10 software layer may not be the most recent, but you can take advantage of key features like dark mode, custom wallpapers, and many more. Navigation seems a little slow if you have switched from a higher frame rate. It will take some time to adjust. On the other hand, bad news for those who are waiting for Android 11 here.

You may have heard of Android 12. It will be released in beta very soon. But, after looking at the LG W41 Plus smartphone, it looks like it will take a few years to get to that point. The software configuration may not go according to the competition already violated for Android 11.

But light games are possible, and you can even try cutting-edge games which might not perform well, as the 12 nm – Helio G35 chipset is a game center processor for low-cost smartphones. Still, expecting great visuals will be difficult. Graphical rendering lacks in many ways. Furthermore, the bottleneck of the resolution makes it even worse.

The performance speed is good, as it goes up to 2.3 GHz, and the single-core performance is better for bursting energy for a short interval. At the same time, the 4 GB RAM manages multitasking without any problems. In addition, the eMMC 5.1 128 GB space gives a boost to data recording and reading. For more storage, you can use the dedicated Micro SD slot.

Camera

Contrary to the quality of the camera you feel in the LG Wing, there is nothing impressive about the LG W41+ phone. We can say that the 48MP primary snapper is an underdog that reveals its power when capturing phones. If you use professional mode and set the background, you will see noticeable differences in image quality.

The secondary camera unit follows the 8MP ultrawide lens dedicated for the wide-angle photo of nature and gives a better balance in group photos. The remaining 5 MP macro and the 2 MP depth lens enhance the quality and detail of close-up photos, while depth precipitation ensures dynamic focus on the subject. On the other hand, you will receive a very standard but robust 8MP selfie camera.

With this setup, you can take some good photos with adequate lighting, but expecting something extraordinary may not be possible. You can adjust the hue and get details in low light, while the photos and videos remain the same as always. What really makes the difference is the AI software. The LG W41 Plus smartphone lacks good software as well as resolution.

Other than that, the camera app is also not bad. You’ll get tons of features and even be able to record videos up to 1080p from both cameras.

Battery and Others

Like most affordable smartphone specialties, the LG W41 plus comes with an extended Li-Po 5000 mAh battery charged through a Type-C 2.0 charging port and expects to ship with a standard charger. With so much battery, the W41 plus smartphone can stay active for more than 8 hours or more screen time on a single charge, which is quite brilliant.

The price decided by the company for the LG W41 Plus smartphone is USD 190 (14,499 INR). Although, in terms of specifications, this price could be acceptable if it had an FHD resolution and support for fast battery charging. In short, this device is overpriced compared to its main specifications.

Conclusion

LG devices are known for their bright and vivid display, as they are mainly TV brands. The additional crispness would appear here as well. In addition, the LG W41 plus smartphone is equipped with a tall screen, ample storage, and a battery with sufficient capacity. The quality of the camera is adequate in some ways.

But if you look at the LG W41 Plus as a whole, you will be disappointed to learn that it has no FHD resolution, does not have suitable camera software, or offers fast-charging support. You can choose this phone if the price drops by 20-30%, as it would be the real value. If you are looking to add value to the money you are investing in a phone, then you should consider the Poco M3 smartphone.
