LG Q31 Review
Highlights
- LG Q31 has a 13 MP dual camera paired with a 5 MP depth sensor
- A decent Li-lon 3000 mAh battery for a full day’s battery backup
- MIL-STD 810G certified for greater durability and protection
- A 5.7 inches HD+ screen certainly offers a great viewing experience
- The latest Android 10 operating system in LG Q31
Design and Display
As for the rear, the silver color looks beautiful with a horizontally aligned dual-camera system. In addition, there is an LG logo right in the lower region. We don’t have much to say about the rear plastic panel, as it has a very normal design. Moving to the front side, a U-shaped notch appears alongside thick bezels at the edges. In short, we should not expect a very impressive media consumption, but it is justified by being a low-cost device.
Considering that the LG Q31 is an affordable smartphone, we should be happy with a 5.7 inches HD+ IPS LCD panel on which you can watch web series or play moderate games. The experience could have been more engaging if they could have minimized the setting a little.
Memory and Internal
As far as processing power is concerned, the Mediatek Helio P22 octa-core chipset is on board to manage medium-grade tasks in everyday life. However, you can’t expect it to behave too fast or appear too fast, but obviously, it can serve to browse social media and go through emails. Paired with the PowerVR GE8320 GPU, simple games are easily playable, but we can doubt games like PUBG or Call of Duty Mobile for smooth performance.
Speaking of the installed software, the LG Q31 runs on top of Google’s Android 10, although it is very close to Android stock. There is no denying the fact that Android 10 comes with modern and intuitive features, in addition to LG’s own proprietary functions.
Let us turn our attention to the memory department, the company embarks on the mobile terminal with only a single RAM and also with a single internal storage option.
Under the hood, the 3GB RAM makes the device compatible to work with applications in an optimal way. On the other hand, we have enough internal storage of 32 GB to store all of our videos, documents, and photos. In addition, support for external SD card allows us to go even further, up to 512 GB.
Camera
Like the LG K31, the LG Q31 displays exactly the same horizontally aligned 13 MP dual camera module. The 13 MP main sensor features fast focus technology to capture brilliant action photos that deliver great performance in daylight conditions.
The main sensor is expected to experience problems in low light conditions due to the small size of the sensor. In addition, the 5MP ultrawide angle lens can help bring everyone in a single photo or offer more field of view.
Initially, the U-shaped notch features a standard 5MP camera that is best suited for captivating daylight selfies. In addition, the selfie camera has another task which is to help the user to face unlock the phone.
Battery
LG incorporated a suitable 3000mAh Li-Po, however, compared to other manufacturers and considering the market competition, 3000mAh seems a little less satisfactory. Unlike the LG K31, the company refused to add biometric authentication to this model. Unfortunately, even in the third quarter of 2020, the device comes equipped with the micro USB 2.0 that is disappearing.
Like other LG smartphones, the LG Q31 is also a little expensive due to the brand value. It equips the price of $ 175 (Rs 12,900) for the only variant of 3 GB of RAM and internal storage of 32 GB.
