Design and Display
The Infinix Zero 40 4G and 5G feature a curved design language, which gives them a fancy appearance. At first glance, you would be compelled to think they are expensive even though they are not. This is partly due to the curved side frame and display. The curved sides also provide a better grip, so they won’t slip out of your hands that easily.
The body of the two phones are made of plastic but they are solid and there’s no creaking or bending of any sort. The Infinix Zero 40 4G and 5G also features an IP54 dust and water-repellent design. As for the display, both phones feature the same feature the same 6.78-inch AMOLED display. However, the Infinix Zero 40 4G’s display supports up to 120Hz high refresh rate, while the Infinix Zero 40 5G’s display goes even higher at 144Hz high refresh rate.
Apart from that, both displays have FHD+ resolution and can display up to 1 billion colors. The screen of the two phones can also get as bright as 1300 nits, so you will have no issues using them outdoors. The Infinix Zero 40 4G is available in Misty Aqua, Rock Black, and Blossom Glow colors, while the Infinix Zero 40 5G is in Rock Black, Violet Garden, and Moving Titanium.
Memory and Internal
The Infinix Zero 40 4G is powered by the Mediatek Helio G100 4G chipset, which has a clock speed of 2×2.2 GHz. On the other hand, the Infinix Zero 40 5G is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate 5G chipset and this chipset has a clock speed of 1×3.1 GHz. While both chipsets are fast enough to run all applications smoothly, the Dimensity 8200 has more power, especially in gaming.
It can provide more FPS in games like PUBG Mobile, Summoners War, Black Desert Mobile, Genshin Impact, and CODm than the Mediatek Helio G100. But overall, they are both quite capable and won’t disappoint you. It is also obvious that one is a 4G chipset and the other is a 5G chipset, supporting 5G connectivity for gigabit-level speeds.
Therefore, the Infinix Zero 40 5G phone can download movies at gigabyte download speeds and play online games at low latency. For RAM and storage, the Infinix Zero 40 4G comes in 8GB+256GB and 8GB+512GB RAM and storage variants. On the other hand, the Infinix Zero 40 5G comes in 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB RAM and storage variants.
The 5G model has more RAM in both storage variants. When it comes to the software side of things, the new smartphones are running Android 14 with an XOS 14.5 user interface, which provides higher customization options.
Camera
Both Infinix Zero 40 4G and 5G smartphones feature the same 108MP triple rear camera system. The primary 108MP rear camera is properly optimized to capture more photons than usual. Thus, it can capture some good shots with high detail levels, decent clarity, and natural colors. There’s a secondary 50MP ultra-wide sensor, which is as good as the primary camera and can capture pictures with a 120˚ wide field of view with little to no shift in colors.
The third sensor is a 2MP depth camera, which is pretty useless and is just for the show. On the front, both Infinix Zero 40 4G and 5G have the same 50MP selfie camera, which is quite capable. It can take selfies with high detail levels and natural colors. While the cameras of the two smartphones are the same, they are configured differently when it comes to video recording.
The Infinix Zero 40 4G can record videos at a maximum of 1440P@30FPS from both the rear and selfie cameras. While the Infinix Zero 40 5G can record at up to 4K@60FPS from both the rear and selfie cameras.
Battery and Others
Both Infinix Zero 40 4G and 5G have the same 5000mAh long-lasting battery, which can provide 1 – 2 days’ worth of battery life with low to medium usage that includes camera, YouTube, messaging, calling, and more. However, if you play a lot of games, the battery will drain faster and the smartphones may not last a full day.
However, both smartphones have 45W fast charging support, which can charge them to 50% in just 25 minutes. The Infinix Zero 40 5G also has support for 20W wireless fast charging support, which is not available in the 4G model.
Apart from that, both smartphones have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an under-display fingerprint scanner, GPS, NFC, Infrared sensor, and a USB Type-C port for charging. As for pricing, the Infinix Zero 40 4G is available starting at $238 (Rs 19,990 in India) approx. At the same time, the Infinix Zero 40 5G is available starting at $286 (Rs 23,990 in India) approx.

Conclusion
The Infinix Zero 40 4G and 5G have the same Mediatek chipset inside the smartphone. They have similar designs but with different colors. They even have the same bright display, camera hardware, and even the battery capacity. The only differences are in chipset, 5G, and wireless charging.
The chipset in the 5G smartphone has almost double the power of the 4G model, making it significantly more powerful in gaming. This combined with the other two differences makes them worlds apart, even though they are quite similar. However, their difference isn’t substantial enough to make them both stand out.
Considering everything the Infinix Zero 40 4G has, the pricing is not justified and we cannot recommend it but the pricing of the 5G model is alright. Thus, you may choose the Infinix Zero 40 5G smartphone. However, if this phone is not available in your region yet, there’s another alternative. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro has better features than the two Infinix phones here, including wireless charging, but the pricing is higher. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
