Huawei Mate 30E Pro Review

Highlights

  1. This borderless hybrid device comes with a 6.53 inches OLED screen with HDR 10 and IP 68 certification.
  2. The phone also offers a fabulous quad-camera setup under the circular plate that gives the phone a stunning look.
  3. As for the front, it has a big notch for a 32MP selfie camera that shows vivid colors in the images.
  4. Under the hood, performance is enhanced through the Kirin 990E 5G chipset.
  5. The essence of the energy comes through the Li-Po 4500 mAh battery and includes a 40W fast charging stand.

Design and Display

Now, starting with the rear profile, there is no particular change to the rear. The phone offers the same old camera and can get a wide range of color schemes. The color gradient gives the phone an attractive look, that’s for sure. But, the stylish texture gradient gives it a premium feel.

Apparently, the front screen has not changed either, as it has the 6.53 inches OLED screen that renders the fingerprint reader on the screen. In addition, you can also use FaceID for security issues. The tall screen offers a frameless screen experience, but still, many people prefer a flat-screen or a curved screen. In addition, you get IP68 dust/water resistant up to 2m for 30 mins and HDR 10 on the screen.

Memory and Performance

Within the Huawei Mate 30E Pro, the Kirin 990E chipset that supports up to the 7 nm size. Although the processing speed did not improvise the two main cores, in the middle the speed of the two cores increased to 2.86 GHz Cortex-A76, while the remaining four cores also increased their potential for the 1.95 GHz Cortex-A55, which is great because it improves the overall performance of the phone.

There are two storage variants of 128 GB and 256 GB that work together with the support of 8 GB of RAM. In addition, the phone is also compatible with the UFS 3.0 storage system, which increases the speed of data transfer and reading.

The phone is equipped with a shared Nano SD slot to add more space up to 256 GB but it uses a shared SIM slot. In terms of the software section, the Android 10 OS without any Google apps supports under its hood. But EMUI 11 UI is placed on top of it which is one of the plus points.

Camera

The camera setup is not like the random flagship smartphone. The Huawei Mate 30E Pro equips two 40 MP main camera and the other 40MP for ultrawide photos.

Besides that, the lens of the 8 MP phone is paired with the TOF 3D lens. With this quad-camera setup, fascinating natural images would be clicked, along with next-level Slow-Motion features with decent exposure quality. Even so, night mode is not the best, perhaps it has been ahead of time in the past two years, but now all smartphone companies follow this pattern.

The large Dual 32 MP and TOF 3D selfie guarantee a dynamic range of modes with a premium touch on videos and images. The camera software also plays a significant role in improving the quality of the photos and video, and Huawei knows that. For that reason, they’ve augmented the incredible software within the built-in camera application.

Battery and Others

The Huawei Mate 30E Pro equips a 4500 mAh battery with 40 W charging support. Obviously, the phone allows 27W wireless charging features along with the reverse charging capability. There is no doubt that the phone will be recharged in 30 minutes.

Other than that, this device offers exceptional sound quality as it has a speaker at the top and bottom. In addition to sound, like most flagship smartphones, there will be no 3.5mm connector at your disposal. The sensor and communication specifications are excellent as needed.

Huawei’s ban may not affect China because the pattern of software usage is different from the whole world, and they have a distinct software ecosystem, which is definitely the most suitable for that market. In its home country, the Huawei Mate 30E Pro is one of the best smartphones in the flagship line. But outside of China, you need to think twice before buying it, except that your priority is the hardware, rather than the entire interface. Furthermore, there is no word from the authorities that it would be launched outside of China.
