Huawei Enjoy 70X Smartphone Review – Huawei was once a household name among the global smartphone companies. But after US sanctions, their phones are only going downhill. Recently, the smartphone maker launched the Enjoy 70X. It looks like a standard handset without a special thing to offer. The Enjoy 70 series phones are exclusive to the Chinese smartphone market. Yet, it is good to see that the company offers a massive battery with a midrange price tag.
Unlike many other phones, you will find satellite messaging features. Although, this perk is only limited to China boards. Apart from this, there aren’t many appealing features, except a curved display and a beautiful design layout. Still, it’s a safe bet as a mid-ranger smartphone. But is it worth purchasing outside China or not? So, let’s find out from the following review.

- Thankfully, the device is powered by a 6100 mAh battery setup with 40W wired charging support.
Design and Display
Huawei Enjoy 70X comes with four stunning color varieties so that the users obtain more options to choose from. It includes Black, White, and Blue paint jobs with matte finishing. In this model, you will find a standard plastic back panel. But, the green color option comes with a silicone polymer back (eco-leather), which gives a premium appearance. There’s no doubt that the green variant is the best choice.
But the camera island looks better in the standard colors. It includes a black tone for the camera ring and the inner circle contains the branding. Overall, the design looks appealing to the eyes. Alongside this, the company also added a slim build with a plastic side panel. Yet, it’s surprising to see that Huawei added IP64 ingress on the body.
Not to forget, the phone also supports drop resistance for the body. The fingerprint scanner is mounted on the 6.78-inch AMOLED panel. This display easily provides FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate for navigation. In terms of content consumption, the HDR Vivid provides sharp colors and manages contrast. However, the phone has average brightness, making it a bad choice for outdoor usage.
Memory and Internal
For many years, there hasn’t been any significant improvement in the hardware sections of Huawei phones. Typically, you will find a regular Kirin chipset with a Hexa-core processing unit. The same thing happens with the Huawei Enjoy 70X since it is equipped with an unknown Kirin chip, expected to Kirin 8000A chip. Nevertheless, the users can expect a decent level of performance with the CPU. But, heavy use might be troublesome for the internals.
It’s not clear whether the phone features a dedicated cooling system. Though, you can enjoy normal games without any lags or performance drops. But long gaming sessions will cause heating issues. Anyway, the software experience has improved, thanks to HarmonyOS 4.2. The latest version offers a wide range of multitasking features.
Through them, the average user can modify the interface appearance according to their wishes. At the same time, there are tons of unique apps. But, you won’t find the Google ecosystem apps. You might need to download a third-party app to access those apps. Last but not least, the phone is available in 8GB RAM with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options. But, you won’t notice any external storage configuration on this device.
Camera
On the back panel of Huawei Enjoy 70X, you might notice there’s a triple camera setup. But in reality, it’s just a dual camera island housed by a 50MP primary and 2MP depth sensor. For years, many people have been waiting for ultrawide lenses on Huawei phones. But it looks like this dream won’t come true anytime soon. As for the camera configuration, the primary sensor can capture dynamic range colors and give immersive results.
The daylight photos don’t look artificial, and the white balance is precisely managed. Yet, the noise is heavily noticed in the regular mode, especially during lowlight conditions. Even after using night mode, the results aren’t satisfactory. However, the native camera app provides ample support with advanced AI software. But, when it comes to image processing it failed to deliver high-quality photos.
The depth lens is just there for show. It didn’t add any special value to the camera department, apart from adding a bit more textures in the portrait mode. Aside from this, the company added color spectrum sensors that help in improving image quality. It provides natural-looking colors. Following this, the 8MP selfie gives decent results. The skin tones come out accurate with different selfie modes. Plus, the device can handle up to 4K video recording.
Battery and Others
Under the hood, the Huawei Enjoy 70X device attains a 6100 mAh battery setup. Typically, you can expect up to 6+ hours of screen time for normal activities. Moreover, playing online games and streaming content won’t be a problem as you will obtain up to 5 hours worth of screen time. Following this, the users will obtain 40W wired charging support on the Enjoy 70X. Through this, refilling the battery percentage is possible within one and a half hours.
In half an hour, around 35% battery will be refilled. Although, the charging speed has been better. Still, it’s not bad since the phone has a longer battery endurance. As for other exclusive features, the phone offers an x button on the side to access frequently visited apps. Plus, it also has Face ID, BDS satellite Messaging, NFC, 5G connectivity, and many other features. The audio output through a stereo speaker is crisp. Whereas, the expected starting price is around $256 (Rs 21,999 in India) approx.

Conclusion
At the time of review, the Huawei Enjoy 70X is only available in China. It might sound absurd, but finding a Huawei smartphone outside mainland China is quite challenging. Despite this, the phone can be considered a great mid-ranger phone because of two reasons. First would be the premium built quality, and second would be Beidou satellite connectivity. Apart from this, there aren’t many noteworthy features seen on this device.
The software side does look refreshing with the HarmonyOS. Yet, it didn’t feature a traditional Google ecosystem. The curved display and slim build are definitely the plus points of Enjoy X70. But, the hardware configuration didn’t keep up to the standards. If your priorities are inclined toward performance, consider checking Vivo iQOO Z9s Pro. It gives beautiful camera results, powerful hardware, and fast-charging campsites. Still, the final decision is up to you. Choose a phone that fits your requirements.
