Honor X60i Smartphone Review – The Honor X60i was announced in July 2024 in China, and the smartphone started shipping in August 2024. We are expecting the Honor X60i to be released globally in the coming months like other Honor smartphones did, but the company hasn’t mentioned anything officially yet. In terms of design, it looks similar to its predecessor, the Honor X50i+, which launched last year.
This phone is designed as a budget mid-range smartphone, so it has all the necessary specs, including 5G connectivity. The inclusion of 5G in this price range will surely impress a lot of people and enhance the user experience but it remains to be seen how well it does market, considering the fierce competition. Let’s begin with a detailed review of the Honor X60i and see if this smartphone is worth purchasing.

Design and Display
The design of the Honor X60i follows the same design language as its predecessor, the Honor X50i Plus, which is a good thing. The phone features a flat design with beautiful patterns on the rear panel. It looks quite premium but the same cannot be said about the build materials since it’s entirely plastic, which is common in budget phones. This compromise is how Honor was able to keep the prices down.
Also, the phone won’t slip out of your hands easily due to the flat boxy design. The Honor X60i has a small pill on the display like the iPhones, and it houses the selfie camera. The bezels on the display are thin and uniform throughout the phone, which gives it a premium appearance. Anyone who looks at it will have a hard time believing it is a budget smartphone.
Speaking of the display, the Honor X60i features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 90Hz high refresh rate support for a smoother experience. The panel features FHD+ resolution, so watching content on the screen will be a pleasure. The display can also get as bright as 2000 nits under direct sunlight, so using the smartphone outdoors won’t cause much of an issue. The colors on this smartphone are also quite interesting. It is available in Black, Blue, Purple, and White, which should satisfy most users. The Honor X60i is protected against dust and water splashes with the IP64 rating.
Memory and Internal
The Honor X60i has the MediaTek Dimesnity 6080 5G chipset, which can reach clock speeds of up to 2×2.4GHz. This is an impressive chipset, considering the price point of the smartphone. You will be glad to know that this chip has enough raw power to run all your everyday apps and games decently well, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and more.
Speaking of gaming, this chipset has the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, which is capable of running high-end games like PUBG mobile, CODm, Black Desert Mobile, Summoners War, and even Genshin Impact at relatively smooth framerates at low graphical settings. The Honor X60i is running on Android 14 OS with a MagicOS 8 user interface that has a lot of features.
Honor even included 5G connectivity, which not only offers better download speeds but also helps in multiplayer games by lowering network latencies. The smartphone will be available for purchase with up to 8GB/12GB of RAM and up to 256GB/512GB of internal storage which should be enough for most users.
Camera
The Honor X60i comes with a 50MP dual rear camera system. The main camera features a 50MP sensor, which is capable of capturing some great pictures with good detail levels and high dynamic range. We were expecting less considering the price but the picture quality is quite decent. The secondary 2MP camera sensor is useless and it is there only for show.
On the front of the Honor X60i, there’s an 8MP selfie camera, which can take selfies that are good enough to post on social media. As for video recording, the Honor X60i can shoot at a maximum of 1080p@30FPS from both the rear and selfie cameras. Also, there’s no OIS or gyro-EIS video stabilization, so video footage recorded from this camera may appear shaky.
Battery and Others
The Honor X60i has a high-capacity Li-Po 5000mAh battery, which is capable of providing excellent battery life that should last for 2 days or even more with lighter usage. This includes social media, texting, light browsing, YouTube, and so on. However, the battery will drain faster and may not even last a full day on heavy gaming.
As for charging, the smartphone supports 35W wired fast charging, which can fully charge the battery in about an hour and a half. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, an under-display fingerprint scanner, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone is available for purchase at $202 (Rs 16,990 in India) approx.

Conclusion
Honor accomplished its goal of delivering a strong budget mid-range phone with the Honor X60i. It has all the necessary features needed to be a decent mid-range smartphone, including a great display with a decent refresh rate, decent gaming performance, and excellent battery life.
On top of all that, it has 5G, which is usually not present in other budget phones. With this 5G connectivity, Honor wants to provide gigabit-level download speeds and low latency in gaming. Considering all that it has, the price tag is decent. However, if Honor phones are not available in your region, other smartphones offer similar or better features.
For example, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 offers much better camera performance than this but costs around the same. However, they are both great phones. The final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
