Honor X30i

Honor X30i Review – The in-house new X of Honor series, the Honor X30i smartphone comes with exceptional mid-range features and specs that you’ll also get from the competition. But what makes the Honor X30i a little different from the rest of the competition is its aesthetic design, while the phone doesn’t rely on Google’s ecosystem. It may be an inconvenience for some users, but at the same time, it will be a new experience.

The smartphones like Lava Agni 5G and Vivo Y76s can give tough competition for the Honor X30i. Still, compared to its predecessor, Honor X20 SE, subtle changes are taking place in the chipset, and these results can be seen in the performance aspect. However, there is no news about its launch on the global stage. Still, if you want to buy this phone, let’s do a detailed review of the Honor X30i smartphone.

Honor X30i Review

Highlights

  1. The device appears with a very usual but classic IPS LCD panel, which features a 90Hz refresh rate.
  2. In terms of hardware power, manufacturers supply the Dimensity 810 5G chipset with 6nm architecture.
  3. To run everything smoothly, you are also getting Magic UI 5.0 with support for Android 11 OS.
  4. The camera has a 48MP main camera setup with an 8MP selfie camera on the front.
  5. Still, the phone only relies on the 22.5W fast charger to power the 4000 mAh battery.

Design and Display

The Honoro X30i comes with a very simple design layout that gives the phone a premium look even though it’s made of plastic. But, the colors and design of the glossy pattern give it a somewhat aesthetic look, while you can better choose according to your logical form the impressive hue option. There are options like Black, Blue, Silver, and Rose Gold that guarantee a great feeling. The Rose Gold looks chic while the rest of them look professional.

Moving the built-in core quality, the phone features a fairly narrow layout and a slim construction that ensures you hold the phone properly and accurately. Although this design appeared to look good on the Honor X30i. The side panel offers a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

On the other hand, the company has not pointed out whether or not the phone offers gorilla glass on the screen. It has a 6.7-inches screen that reproduces the color matching technology of the IPS LCD panel. With this screen, you’ll have no problem watching content at 90Hz, but if you’re looking for bold colors, you’ll be disappointed. You neither get an advanced IP rating nor do you get support for HDR-enabled content.

Memory and Internal

The hardware under the hood is similar to most budget 5G phones, as inside the phone you’re getting the 6nm Dimensity 810 5G chipset. This chipset is suitable for running games with ease, while visual rendering arrives with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU lowered. With this configuration, you may not be able to reach new heights, but the processing cores will go up to 2x 2.4GHz speed.

The cloaking speed is slightly higher and, because of that, the overall performance experience with the phone would be excellent. On the other hand, at the end of the software, you will get the basic Android 11 OS which combines the Magic UI 5.0 software layers. Unfortunately, there is no support from the Google Play services. Unlike Huawei, where you should lean towards alternative options to get access to normal apps.

The UI experience would be simple and you’ll get impressive customization features that let you change the look of the UI as much as you like. Furthermore, the company has also added support of 6GB to 8GB of RAM in 128GB and 256GB storage variants which will provide the capability of good performance in terms of multitasking. However, there is no information about the secondary storage unit.

Camera

The Honor X30i’s camera aspect is great to stand out in the mid-range market, but videography can make its mark, which will be covered in the next part. As for camera quality, you can capture decent photos with the 48MP main camera. It will provide the dynamic range photos, and the image processing software is adequate enough to render wide results.

As far as the color saturation is concerned, you’ll get decent photos with warm colors and you’ll be able to make that look with the filters. Thanks to the native camera’s app modes, you can capture great photos without worrying about the quality. The general daylight fittings are great, while the basses need a little improvement. The edge detection software in portrait mode is great, but sometimes it hits or misses.

On the other hand, the Honor X30i’s videography isn’t worth mentioning, as the phone didn’t support gyro-EIS nor IOS to record stable 1080p videos. As per the competition, it did not have 4K video recording capabilities. Plus, you’ll find a combination of 2MP macro and 2MP depth on the main camera board, while an 8MP selfie camera is at the front.

Battery and Others

The Honor X30i smartphone offers a decent screen time of over 5 hours, thanks to the 4000 mAh battery. Not only do you get fine build quality with the smaller size, but you also get better battery life optimization. You can play games for over 2 hours directly, while the phone will take less than an hour to fill the fully discharged battery through the Type-C port.

The additional features provided by the phones are nice and you will also get higher level sensors and connectivity features. But at the same time, NFC features are not available, so it’s a small disadvantage for many users. Also, the price comes to around $200 (Rs 14,999) approx. With this price range, you’ll get a device similar to or with better features, but if you’re looking for an Honor aesthetic design, the offer is worth mentioning.

Conclusion

The main reason to buy the Honor X30i smartphone in the first place would be its low-cost 5G tag, which you’re getting at $200. Besides that, the specs and price ratio are uniform as you’ll get a decent camera, Optimized software, robust performance, wide gameplay, and better battery capacity. However, if you compare all this with the competition, some smartphones can outperform the X30i, like the Oppo K9s.

Even so, Honor is a brand known for its robust design and performance, and in this section, manufacturers get a few things. The Honor X30i is a recommended deal for those users looking for 5G support at an affordable price. However, if in your country, 5G connectivity is not available, going for a 4G device in the same price range would be a great deal because of the value for money but the final decision is up to you.
