Like its sibling, availability is confirmed for mainland China from November 2021, although there is no information on launching in the other market. Fortunately, the first impression of the X30 Max is good. Also, you are getting 5G connectivity as its additional perks. So let’s have a detailed review of the Honor X30 Max smartphone.

Honor X30 Max Review

  1. The device features a simple 7.09 inch IPS LCD panel which also provides HDR 10+ certification.
  2. In terms of processing powers, you will get Dimensity 900 5G chipset with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU.
  3. The final software equips the Android 11 operating system which provides the custom layers of Magic UI 5.0,
  4. The camera island contains a 64MP dual camera setup with a standard 8MP selfie.
  5. To run your favorite games and web series, manufacturers feature a 5000 mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support.

Design and Display

Honor X30 Max did not look like its brother as there are noticeable differences in the camera module. But, the phone has a unique charm that ensures a stunning look and a stylish designer look. The glossy pattern layout may not be the glass you’re looking for; it’s actually made of plastic, which is quite common on mid-ranger devices.

There are three wonderful shade options you can choose from. The first option is the Black shade which has professional vibes, while the second option has the classic Blue variant, while the last variant is none other than the Silver shade which has a splendid and aesthetic look. You can choose whatever you like. But at the same time, the phone is a bit heavy and thick due to its huge battery capacity.

For security features, you’re getting the side-mounted fingerprint reader, thanks to the arrival of the 7.09-inch IPS LCD panel. Plus, you’re getting crisp color and contrast with HDR 10+ certification. The high-aspect screen puts the cinematic experience at your fingertips; you can watch HDR content without complications. Also, the manufacturers did not offer the IP rating or the gorilla corning glass.

Memory and Internal

The hardware section features the Dimensity 900 5G chipset that offers immersive processing speed with the blessing of 5G connectivity. For starters, the Honor X30 Max brings 2.4GHz stealth speed that ensures you renew all the possibilities of the game. In addition, the octa-core processor precisely controls the overall output.

In addition to the processing cores, the chipset can deliver decent results in typical multitasking. It also powers the Mali-G68 MC4 GPU which manages the visual rendering capabilities on the phone and provides exceptional support. But, you can’t expect next-level gaming from this GPU, nor does the company offer special gaming software. Now that we’ve covered the software, the phone offers Magic UI 5.0 layers.

This custom interface combines with the Android 11 operating system to provide decent customization. Then you can choose 8GB of RAM that comes with internal storage from 128GB to 256GB. With both settings, you won’t face problems in daily use. But if the company had added a secondary storage unit to the SIM tray, that would be great.

Camera

The camera’s processing may not be as good on first impressions, and the drastic low quality in night mode is also visible on newer models. But compared to last year’s smartphones like the Honor X20, daytime photos and videos are gradually improved, but the same improvement doesn’t show up accurately in night mode. You will still notice some grains overnight.

Also, you can’t do anything about the brightness of the light. Hopefully, you’re getting the dynamic range result with the help of AI software, and the native camera also supports tons of features, filters, and modes. With this, you can capture decent HDR, portrait, Pro, AI-enhanced images. In parallel, the company also grants features such as 4K video recording with support for gyroscope stabilization.

In terms of specs, you’ll get a top-level 64MP primary snapper that works exclusively to bring color and saturation to photos and videos. In addition, the software edge also helps, although there is also a 2MP secondary lens for portrait mode. Last but not least there is a standard 8 MP selfie camera that takes decent selfies overall.

Battery and Others

A colossal-sized battery of 5000 mAh appears in the Honor X30 Max, from which you can reduce screen time by more than 5 hours. This allows you to watch the content and have long game sessions, but there may be warm-up issues. Plus, you’ll also get a 22.5W charging speed that will power up your phone in less than an hour and a half via a Type-C port.

On the other hand, the sound quality is great and will work very well in the typical case. Also, the wi-fi, communication and sensor are top-notch, so there’s nothing to worry about. Lastly, the Honor X30 Max arrives with a price tag of $375 (Rs 27,999) approx. It’s not bad, but there are some things the phone is missing, like refresh rate and fast loading speed. But, the processing power manages everything precisely.

Conclusion

The Honor X30 Max smartphone is a decent mid-ranger 5G phone that brings an impressive feature set. The specs you’re getting are straightforward and simplified for the mainstream. Plus, you’re getting robust performance, 5G connectivity, HDR display, long battery life, and more. But, the phone has an equal share of flaws.

If you’re looking for an alternative phone, you can check out the Realme GT Neo 2T, which offers a better display, camera, price range, and some extra features.
