Honor V40 Lite Review, Pros and Cons – Recently, Chinese smartphone companies have experienced massive growth. One of them is the Honor that was part of Huawei Technology. Focused mainly on the younger generation, Honor gave many featured phones that are attractive. The company launched another smartphone called the Honor V40 Lite, on March 28, 2021.

Presented with a wonderful screen, 5G network, and a brilliant camera, this phone can make noise around the corner, but it is lacking in many sections in this budget. Let’s start the detailed review to know more about the Honor V40 Lite smartphone.

Honor V40 Lite Review

Highlights

  1. The 6.57 displays give 1B of colors in an image and provide a 90 Hz refresh rate when playing videos.
  2. It runs on an older version of the operating system, which is Android 10 and there is no Google Play Service.
  3. The MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5g offers decent performance for gamers with the Mali-G57 MC3 graphics unit.
  4. You will receive a 64 MP main camera that is great for capturing images in great detail.
  5. It provides a 66W fast charger with the Li-Po 3800 mAh battery.

Design and Display

The brighter tone of this phone makes it more attractive on the back. Available in three colors that are black, blue, and green. The V40 Lite displays a peaceful atmosphere for users. The 6.57 inches is a standard size for most smartphones. The rear panel has a quad camera in a curved rectangular panel. Because of the fingerprint sensor under the screen, the back has plenty of space.

Although this exclusive feature does not exist, the smartphone has some advanced features. You’ll have a 90 Hz refresh rate that controls your smartphone’s motion blur. A smoothly moving video is always fabulous. The screen has an OLED screen with 1080p resolution that renders 1B colors in an image. This is really an incredible feature of the brand and comes with HDR10 certification.

One of the noticeable features of this phone is its lightweight. The phone comes with a 169g weight and is 7.6 mm thick for a comfortable grip.

Memory and Internal

It doesn’t matter if you are a fan of high-value processors paying a high price, then this phone is not for you. Also, if you are a regular game player, you can stay away from it. The brand is still providing the oldest version of the operating system, which is Android 10. It also has a custom interface Magic UI 4.0 that allows you to perform all necessary tasks without any problems.

Unfortunately, you will not get any services from Google Play same as the Honor Play 5. Therefore, you can definitely stay away from this type of phone if it does not matches your demanding feature.

MediaTek Dimensity 800U is under the hood which provides quite satisfactory performance. But the budget is so high that you will definitely think there should be a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. With a clock speed of 2.4 GHz, the Mali-G57 offers a decent visual experience.

On the other hand, the internal storage section is available in two options, one 8 GB RAM with 128 GB storage and the other 8 GB RAM with 256 GB storage. Both are incredible features, but the price leaves you disappointed. Another negative feature of this phone is that it has no microSD card slot. So you are limited to your imagination, but the basic variant does a lot for you.

Camera

Although the phone loses its charm because of its price, it comes with brilliant cameras. Honor has been in service for a long time. The camera part has always been its focal point. The back panel features a 64 MP main camera which is a brilliant addition to this phone. Three other cameras, such as 8 MP ultra-wide, 2 MP depth, and 2 MP macro, respectively, provide incredible images even in low light conditions.

Whether you are a professional or an amateur photographer, your phone can be a great record for capturing some noteworthy photos. You can record videos up to 4K with a stabilization feature. Your videos look smoother than ever. You can expect to captivate nature in a way that is worthwhile.

On the other hand, there is a 32 MP selfie camera on the front. There is less chance of seeing noise in your photos. Thinking about the low light situation, it can capture a decent selfie. It is interesting to know that you can also capture 4K videos with your selfie camera but there is no gyro-EIS stability.

Battery and Others

The most disappointing feature is the battery. Where today’s smartphones are most energy-hungry, the Honor V40 Lite comes with only a 3800 mAh Li-Po battery. This can be a major obstacle to selling. What is the meaning of providing comfort with a 66W fast charger that charges 100% of the battery in 35 minutes? You can get a total of 5 hours of screen time, and when using the 5g network, you may need to charge twice a day.

Another feature to be mentioned is the 5W reverse charger with the box. Now, it doesn’t make sense to have a reverse charge if the battery is low. The surprising feature is the price which is $ 478 (Rs 34,000) approx. This price may not be suitable for many due to available specifications.

Conclusion

This review will help you better understand the Honor V40 Lite phone. Without a doubt, the camera and the screen part are good combinations, but the battery, the operating system, and the memory will definitely discourage you. Even the budget is much larger than the available specifications.

If you are going to pay that amount, you should definitely go for something else. In this budget, that phone looks overpriced. If you are looking for an alternative option with this budget, you can enjoy the Mi 10T Lite smartphone with many more features.
