Honor Play 9A Full Review, Specifications, Pros and Cons: Honor mobile company unveiled the low-budget smartphone called Honor Play 9A in China, It cover-up every feature that requires a standard phone, including a good camera and battery. As compared to Honor Play 3, it missing the 48 MP primary sensor.

It launched on 30 March in China, and it looks like this phone made for only Chinese users. The chances are low that this will be released worldwide, and if it releases, we guess it will come with some improvements in specifications. The rumors are rendering that this phone will launch in June 2020. As for now, let’s review the Honor Play 9A smartphone of the Chinese version. Design and Display

The design of the phone is pretty bold, and the color contrast gives this phone an astonishing look. It comes with a back-mounted fingerprint sensor with a dual-camera setup, including the unique design of the flash LED. We do agree that the body looks thick, but it didn’t mean this phone is large and heavy. It has a thin body structure with a weight of only 180 grams.

The display of 6.31 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen gives a resolution of 720×1600 pixels with 289 PPI density and has a screen to body ratio of 83%, which is quite good.

Memory and Storage

It has Android 10 OS with the layering of the Company’s Magic user-interfacer, and It is powered by Media Tek Helio P35 chipset with an octa-core processor, including the GPU of PowerVR GE8320. On top of that, it comes with USF 3.0.1 memory storage support.

It is available in two memory variants of 4GB RAM / 64 GB and 128 GB storage with a dedicated memory card slot which can expand your storage limit up to 512 GB.

Camera Specifications

The square cut-out front dual-camera setup of 13MP and 2MP gives an immersive look in which the 2 MP sensor for the depth perception and this camera can shoot up to 1k videos. The Water-drop notch Selfie camera comes with 8MP that works fine with enough lightings.

Battery, Price, and Others

It has a 3.55 mm jack slot with an outdated microSD USB charging slot, and additionally, it offers a free earphone in the mobile box. In terms of connectivity, it submits 4G Volite support with dual-SIM, but it didn’t have the NFC.

The phone has a powerhouse 5000 Li-Polymer which is a non-removable battery with just 10 Watt fast charging, which can stay alive for a day. Honor Play 9A available in three amazing colors black, blue, and jasper green. The phone price starts at 130 USD (around 9,900 INR).

  • It has the latest UFS 3.0.1 support. We didn’t see these in some mid-range phones also.
  • The enormous battery of 5000 mAh will increase the gaming experience, as well as the 4 GB RAM will give the faster performance and a decent user-experience.
  • The Magic User-interface gives various types of features.
  • It comes with free earphones.


  • The heating issues can observe in these phones.
  • The photo and video experience are not that great, but the depth sensor works well in the lighting.
  • On the other hand, the resolution is quite moderate and video viewing experience isn’t that great either.
