Design and Display

The Honor’s phones usually set criteria for the new generation design layout. But this time the company doesn’t perform any experiments, and they are relying on the previous module design layout. Though, the Honor Magic 4 Lite comes with a circular camera module cut-out that makes the phone stand out from regular smartphones. At the same time, the phone also has a glossy pattern design that gives a premium appearance.

Moving to the build quality, the device looks pretty sleek with the glass build and slim body. Alongside this, the Magic 4 Lite is lightweight so that you don’t face any issues while using it will single hand. Moreover, you can choose any color variant you liked. Three shade options include Titanium Silver, Ocean Blue, and Midnight Black.

If you are looking for something out of the box, you can try out Titanium silver. It provides impressive looks, while the remaining options also appear superb. On the other hand, the curved 6.81-inches 120Hz IPS LCD provides FHD resolution and enough pixel density so that you will get a decent viewing experience. Although, the phone brightness feels short when you are using the phone outdoor.

Memory and Internal

The Honor Magic renders an average 6nm Qualcomm SM6375 Snapdragon 695 5G chipset. Although the processing speed of this chipset is just 2.2GHz cloaking speed, it doesn’t have an appealing factor as the competition. Hopefully, you won’t get any trouble checking your social media feeds and following your daily routine. Playing games with this phone gives a great experience as you can play at the medium resolution settings and increase the frame rate to max.

A fluid experience comes through an advanced refresh rate, and thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate of the Magic 4 Lite display, you will attain a seamlessly smooth user experience while using the Android 11 interface based on the Magic UI 4.2. Although, it feels underwhelming that the phone is stuck on the older Android version, whereas the latest phones are offering Android 12.

Anyway, you will receive enough internal storage with the Magic 4 Lite, so you can download your multi-media files without any hassle and stream content as much as you want with the 5G connectivity. You can choose a 6GB to 8GB RAM variant for 128GB internal storage. However, you won’t receive any secondary storage unit support in the SIM tray.

Camera

The Honor Magic 4 Lite smartphone is offering the average joe camera setup that includes the 48MP primary lens with its counterpart 2MP depth and 2MP macro lens. With this backside camera module, you can capture decent and fine details photos in the daily light situation, while at the same time, the colors, exposure, and contrast on the mark thanks to the help of the image processing unit.

On the other hand, the portrait photos look like oil painting that doesn’t have any soul in it. Besides this, the macro short feels disappointed. Last but not least, the image processing from the night mode makes the picture smooth, which gives underwhelming lowlight results. In terms of the selfie section, the 16MP lens does work great in proper lights.

Moreover, the native camera is providing various filters and modes to capture photos and videos. Although, the video recording experience with the Magic 4 Lite is above average, and you can only record up to 1080p videos while expecting that you will receive video stabilization would be a lie. Overall, the camera experience with Magic 4 Lite is more average than the same price tag phones.

Battery and Others

Under the hood, the Honor Magic 4 Lite is powered by the Li-Po 4800 mAh battery that grants more than 5+ hours of the screen for your daily usage. You won’t face any problems while playing games like PUBG, call of duty, and Genshin impact. Alongside this, you are getting 66W fast charging support so that the phone will be refueled in less than 30 minutes using the Type C 2.0 port.

Now, looking at the additional features, the Honor Magic 4 Lite provides ample sensor and comms with above-average sound output. For security, the phone also offers a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Moving to the price section, the phone costs around $435 (Rs. 34,000 in India) approx for the starting variant. Conclusions

Undoubtedly, the Honor smartphones have lost their legacy, but still, there are fans like you and me who are excited about their upcoming phones. Although, the Honor Magic 4 Lite is not one of those devices that gives any out-of-the-box that the current market is not offering. The positive side of this phone would be the camera experience and long-lasting battery, while the design and build aspects varied from user to user.

So, if you are not a huge phone of Honor phone, then we won’t recommend this phone in the first place. Instead of this, you can check out the Samsung Galaxy A53. With this phone, you will gain all-rounder specs and will provide great value for your money. But still, the final decision should be based on your preference only. So, compare them and choose anything that fits your needs.
