Follow These 10 Footsteps To Fill Online ITR From Home

  • Step 1:

  • If you are filing returns for the first time, you will have to go to the official e-filing portal of incometaxindiaefiling website. Your Permanent Account Number (PAN) will work as your User ID.

  • Step 2:

  • In the meantime, you have to prepare your own document, which includes Form 16, Form 26AS (Tax Credit Statement), Bank Statements, Copy of Last Year Return File, Mutual and Brokers’ Capital Games Statement.

  • Step 3:

  • Click on the ‘Downloads’ tab to download the ITR Preparation software.

  • Step 4:

  • If your tax is still dew, then immediately fill it out and interconnect the information of your schedule. After this, repeat the above steps so that your tax due shows ‘zero’.

  • Step 5:

  • Interrupt all your data and then click on the ‘Calculate’ option. This allows you to calculate your tax, interest and refunds.

  • Step 6:

  • You can prepare your return by downloading the software application. Click on the ‘pre-fill’ button for personal details and tax payment / TDS. After this, please compress your details so that no details are missed.

  • Step 7:

  • After this, generate your ITR data in XML format and then save it.

  • Step 8:

  • Then log on to the e-filing website and then go to ‘e-file’ option and click on ‘Upload Return’.

  • Step 9:

  • After this, save the appropriate ITR, Assessment Year and XML file.

  • Step 10:

  • In the case of physical verification, you have to send the printed and signed ITR-V form to the Bengaluru IT department within 120 days of the post. After this, after confirming the receipt from the department, your process will be completed.
