In terms of design, the Cubot KingKong X Pro looks similar to Cubot’s other phones and is nothing out of the ordinary. Since it is a bit of a premium smartphone, it comes with some advanced hardware components inside, including 5G connectivity. The company the Cubot KingKong X Pro has got what it takes to impress modern users, especially considering the price. So, let’s begin with a detailed review of the Cubot KingKong X Pro and see if this smartphone is worth purchasing.

Cubot KingKong X Pro Smartphone Review

  4. The main rear camera of the smartphone has a 100MP dual rear camera system, while the selfie camera has a 32MP sensor.
  5. The smartphone is powered by a 10200 mAh battery with 33W wired fast charging support.

Design and Display

The Cubot KingKong X Pro’s design is not too different from that of Cubot’s other phones. It features a rugged design that is built to withstand drops, scratches, hits, vibrations, and forms of torture. In fact, this rugged phone has been validated with MIL-STD-810H certification, so you can rest easy knowing that this phone can survive in tough working conditions.

The Cubot KingKong X Pro is also protected against dust and water with the IP68/69K certification. Also, this phone will only be available in Black color. As for the displays, there’s a 6.72-inch IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate on the front. This panel features an FHD+ resolution, which delivers better picture quality and significantly better colors.

The display can also get quite bright, so you shouldn’t have many issues using the phone outdoors under direct sunlight. There’s also a 1.85-inch secondary screen on the rear panel, which can display the clock and other vital information.

Memory and Internal

The Cubot KingKong X Pro is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 5G chipset, which is capable of reaching clock speeds of up to 1×3.1GHz. This chipset has enough power to run all apps and games smoothly. Whether you use Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, or others, they will launch faster and smoother than other chipsets in the same price range.

As for gaming, the Mali-G610 MC6 GPU can comfortably run games like PUBG mobile, CODm, Summoners War, Black Desert Mobile, and even Genshin Impact at higher graphical settings. The chipset also supports 5G connectivity, so expect gigabit download speeds and low latency in online gaming.

As for the software, the Cubot KingKong X Pro is running on Android 14 with a stock user interface, which allows for a clean and good user experience. When it comes to RAM and storage, the smartphone can be purchased with either 12+256GB or 24+256GB of RAM and storage configurations.

Camera

The Cubot KingKong X Pro comes with a 100MP dual rear camera system. The primary rear camera has a 100MP sensor that can capture some decent shots with a good level of detail and natural color tone. The picture quality is quite good and comparable to other smartphones in the same price range.

However, the same cannot be said for the 5MP macro camera, which is average at best and is nothing special. There’s no ultra-wide, telephoto, night vision, or any other camera. As for the selfie camera, there’s a 32MP sensor that is actually capable of taking some fantastic selfies with high detail levels, great white balance, and a natural skin tone. The phone can also record videos at high resolution from both the rear and selfie cameras. However, there’s no support for OIS or gyro-EIS to capture stable footage.

Battery and Others

The Cubot KingKong X Pro has a 10200 mAh high-capacity battery. It can deliver a battery life of 3 – 5 days, or more, depending on the usage. If you mostly do texting, social media, web browsing, camera, and watching videos, getting 5 days of battery life or more is quite achievable. However, if you play a lot of games, the battery will not last that long.

With heavy gaming, the Cubot KingKong X Pro may not last more than two days. The smartphone also supports 33W wired fast charging, but it will still take over five hours to fully charge the phone. This is due to the huge battery capacity. Unfortunately, the phone doesn’t support wireless charging.

Apart from that, the Cubot KingKong X Pro also has dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The pricing of the smartphone starts at $331 (Rs 27,990 in India) approx.

Conclusion

The Cubot KingKong X Pro has certainly delivered on its promise to deliver a premium smartphone at a decent price tag. Most rugged smartphones with features like the ones mentioned above cost more than what this phone is asking for. In fact, this is the only phone that can truly deliver a great experience in every aspect of the smartphone, considering the price.

The design is fantastic and won’t break easily. It is essentially a brick that will work in any condition and can survive hard falls and drops. The display is also color-accurate and features a higher refresh rate, which is incredible. The main rear camera and the selfie camera are also quite good and can achieve similar results as other phones in the same price category.

The battery life and the charging speeds are also equally impressive. All in all, the Cubot KingKong X Pro is fantastic. Countries, where AliExpress is not available, can purchase the Ulefone Armor 26 Ultra. This is the best alternative phone to the Cubot KingKong X Pro and delivers even better internal specs for a slightly higher price tag. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
