BLU Bold N2 Pros and Cons

BLU Bold N2 Smartphone Review – The BLU smartphone is steadily improving its device quality, although, it might not be quite a popular brand on the global stage. But with their new smartphone line, they do make their great for the worldwide market. Recently, the smartphone makers launched the BLU Bold N2 in August 2022. Though the phone is currently exclusive to North America, it’s not clear whether the company will unveil this phone to other countries.

But from the earlier reviews, it’s confirmed the phone will provide amazing mid-range segment specs and compelling software support. It’s not the first time that the BLU makes something great. They have released the Blu G61s with budget-friendly oriented features. Following this, the Bold N2 comes with a bold statement of providing value for money deal. So, without any further ado, let’s head over to the BLU Bold N2 review.

BLU Bold N2 Smartphone Review

Highlights

  1. The phone equips a pretty standard 6.6-inches AMOLED panel with decent brightness support.
  2. As for the software layering, the device renders the clean UI with Android 11 out of the box.
  3. In terms of the hardware section, you will be getting a Dimensity 810 chipset with a good GPU.
  4. The camera configuration includes a 64MP quad setup with a 16MP dual selfie lens.
  5. Lastly, the BLU Bold N2 is powered by a 4200 mAh battery with a 33W fast charging speed.

Design and Display

The BLU Bold N2 acquires a simple and sober design from the BLU Bold N1, while at the same time, you will attain a classic layout of leather on the back panel. Although, the phone doesn’t provide additional shade options, except for the Cyprus Teal color variant leather, which gives this handset a pretty astounding and premium feel while holding. On the other hand, the phone has a curved display.

The curved display complements the overall design layout and renders a standard frame. In terms of dimension, you will receive 8.6-mm thick side panel. Hopefully, the phone doesn’t feel that heavy as it weighs around 180 grams. The camera panel looks unique from the standard of the BLU smartphone, which grants a rectangular shape camera module.

On the other hand, BLU Bold N2 comes with a 6.6-inches AMOLED panel that grants impressive colors and saturation while watching your favorite content without any problem. As for the security features, the phone arrives with an under-display fingerprint scanner and Face ID features, which are expected in the first place. But surprisingly, the front display has coring gorilla glass protection. Though, the brightness feels average on this phone.

Memory and Internal

Starting the hardware section, the 6nm MediaTek  Dimensity 810 chipset provides a basic performance experience without anything that outshines the competition. Besides this, the single core speed is around 2x 2.4GHz, while the multi-cores render a standard 6x 2.0GHz cloaking speed. With this, you won’t face any particular problems in your daily usage and follow up your routine without any difficulty.

As for the gaming experience, the graphics are average, so we won’t prefer this phone for playing high-end games such as Call of Duty, Genshin Impact, PUBG, Apex Legends, and many more. If you prefer casual games with games like Candy Crush Saga, Temple Run, Subway surfer, etc, you won’t notice that much trouble during your gameplay. For the software layout, Android 11 appears as the UI.

Although it’s sad to see that company doesn’t provide the latest android 12 version out of the box, anyway, it’s a budget-friendly 5G phone, which makes the phone a pretty great deal in the first place. Moreover, the company focus on delivering more value by providing 8GB RAM support with 256GB internal space, which will store all of your multimedia data with no trouble. However, it’s unspecific whether the phone got secondary storage unit.

Camera

It’s been a long time since we have seen a quad camera setup in midrange phones. From 2019 to 2021, people will buy a new phone if it has more than two camera lenses. But eventually, many users understand that the software plays a significant role and lens number doesn’t matter that much. The same story goes for the BLU Bold N2 as it appears with a 64MP quad-camera module.

The primary 64MP lens does capture decent photos with proper lights, and the lowlight photos are also not that underwhelming. But the trouble begins from the secondary camera setup as the company added a combo of useless 2MP macro and 2MP depth lens, which only looks great on paper, but don’t have any substantial importance in real-time usage. Hopefully, the 5MP ultra wide lens gives a dynamic range view.

Now, let’s talk about the selfie camera. You will be surprised to know that the BLU Bold N2 equips a dual selfie lens, which includes a 16MP wide and 2MP depth lens. Both of them enhance your selfie experience and you can also add more vibrant colors and contrast with the camera app filters. As for the video recording, the phone won’t have any issues regarding 1080p videos from both side camera modules.

Battery and Others

Under the hood, the BLU Bold N2 comes with a 4200 mAh battery. With this, you won’t have any issue watching your favorite shows, and stream Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, and YouTube at 1080p resolution. Plus, you will attain more than 5+ hours worth of screen time for your daily activities, while the 33W fast charger will refuel the phone in less than an hour and a half.

Speaking of the additional features, the sound output is pretty decent and you will also get the 3.5 mm jack. Moreover, the company also provides top-notch sensors and comms configurations so that you can utilize all of those features easily. The BLU Bold N2 cost around $249 (Rs. 19,900), which is an awesome deal overall.

Conclusion

The BLU Bold N2 smartphone is by far one of the best BLU smartphones that offers everything that generally users demand from an affordable mid-range phone. You are will obtain a beautiful and colorful display with a premium design layout. The clean UI makes the user experience more attractive with enough internal storage on top. But, there’s no denying that the camera does feel underwhelming.

Moreover, the battery life could have been slightly better. But finally, it decent deal if you are looking for a budget 5G phone. However, we won’t recommend you purchase this phone if the Motorola Moto G71s is available in your country. Because it is a better alternative as you will obtain lots of impressive specs, which BLU Blod N2 is missing. In the end, you have to make the final decision based on your requirements.
