Blackview A53 Pro Pros and Cons

Blackview A53 Pro Smartphone Review – The smartphone makers have released two new smartphone variants in the entry-level segment. The Blackview A53 and Blackview A53 Pro phones are looking for quite appealing deals for users who want to experience decent hardware and software configuration at an affordable price tag. But at the same time, you will notice that the phone won’t provide exceptional features as the other entry-level phones.

You are getting standard features and specs. We have already posted the Black A53 review, so do check it out in the meantime. But for today’s main event, we have the A53 Pro that got a slightly better hardware setup compared to its non-Pro sibling. But at the same time, you will notice the same display resolution with average camera quality. Still, it’s good to see that company put some effort into the overall design, chipset, and camera. So without any further ado, let’s begin the review of the Blackview A53 Pro smartphone.

Blackview A53 Pro Smartphone Review

Highlights

  1. The Blackview A53 Pro arrives with a 6.5 inches IPS LCD panel that offers an HD resolution display.
  2. As for the software end, you are getting Android 12 based on Doke OS 3.0 configuration.
  3. The phone also equips the Helio G35 chipset to handle your daily activities.
  4. A decent 12MP triple camera will appear on the back panel and an 8MP selfie at the front.
  5. Last but not least, the phone offers a Li-Po 5080 mAh battery with 10W wired charging support.

Design and Display

Starting with the design layout, the Blackview A53 Pro phone comes with an additional texture on the back panel that will grant a subtle holding experience. Besides this, it’s worth noting that the company finally try out a new camera module design for the A series phone. Moreover, the user will obtain three shade options from this phone.

Speaking of which, you can choose between Rock Grey, Murky Black, and Starry Blue. But if you want something completely different, we suggest you pick the Murky Black. Aside from this, there’s no problem choosing the other options according to your desire. Moreover, the overall built quality is robust since you are getting a slim phone with a massive battery under the hood. Although, the users aren’t getting additional protection coating over the phone’s body.

Moving to the front display, the Backview A53 Pro equips a pretty standard 6.5 inches IPS LCD panel with a 60Hz refresh rate and average brightness nits support. Besides this, the screen resolution is around 720p which limits users to watch content at only HD quality. However, you won’t face any trouble with the colors and contrast. Though, the brightness levels are average, which makes it difficult to use the phone outdoors.

Memory and Internal

The hardware department is undoubtedly better than the non-pro variant. Here, the Blackview A53 Pro variant comes along with the Helio G35 that grants 2.3GHz cloaking speed. Although, we won’t deny that you will still face issues with process as well, especially when you want to run performance extensive work such as gaming and multitasking. In both cases, the phone struggles to give a decent output.

We won’t suggest the reader play advanced games with these phones since those games will crash eventually due to low processing and graphic unit support. Hopefully, there’s one thing that the smartphone makers do great. They provided the Android 12-based DokeOS 3.0 custom interface, which will allow you to change the UI elements in a pretty sleek manner.

Not to forget, there are a few bloatware apps installed on the interface. Still, it uninstalls most of the applications, except the system-related app. Apart from this, the Blackview A53 Pro equips 64GB internal storage based on the eMMC 5.0 memory type alongside 4GB RAM to support your daily activities. Moreover, it’s good to see the phone offers a shared SIM slot to increase storing limit to a certain level.

Camera

The camera end is completely a mystery as you are getting a triple camera setup in which the phone will obtain a 12MP lens as the primary sensor. But, it’s unclear regarding the rest of the secondary camera lens. Generally, entry-level phones combine a combination of the 2MP macro and 2MP depth lens configuration, which might be possible for this phone. But it’s not confirmed yet.

Yet, we all know that the primary sensors are more important in the entry-level segments since they handle all of the camera requirements. With the native camera app, users can capture exciting memories in the form of videos and cameras. Not to forget, there are various other impressive options offered in the camera app. So do try them out in the meanwhile. As for the lowlight photos, the results are quite disappointing as the phone lacks noise reduction for dark areas.

Aside from this, the overall portrait and zooming features feel dissatisfying. But it’s an unavoidable truth that most entry-level smartphones cut corners in the camera aspect, and the same goes for this phone as well. Aside from this, it’s possible to record 1080p videos. Following this, the device houses an 8MP water drop notch selfie lens that will grant subtle results according to the price range.

Battery and Others

The battery section has always been a core factor when buying a smartphone because screen time is quite important nowadays. With the Li-Po 5080 mAh battery setup, you will obtain up to 7+ hours of screen time for regular activities, which includes content streaming, internet surfing, social suing, and casual gaming. Even after using the phone for more than 4+ hours, the decent battery percentage will remain.

Besides this, it’s possible to refuel the phone from 10% to 90% in an hour and two minutes using the 10W wired charging. Though, the charging speed is quite slow, and in the worst-case scenario, you may have to wait for two hours to refuel the battery flat to full. Aside from his, the sound output is not that bad. Last but not least, the Blackview A53 Pro smartphone is priced at around $140 (Rs 11,490 in India) approx, which is quite a sweet spot as a budget-friendly phone.

Conclusion

The Blackview A53 Pro smartphone is a budget-friendly phone that doesn’t offer any exceptional features to users. Even after going through each of the sections of this phone, you won’t find anything impressive in the first place. It got an average screen, a normal software unit, a casual gaming experience, above-average camera results, and decent battery life. All of those factors do increase this phone’s value.

But, the device doesn’t provide additional support when it comes to providing crips image quality, high refresh rate, 5G connectivity, and so on. The Blackview A53 Pro is not a perfect phone, and it got an equal number of flaws. But at the end of the day, if you are looking for a phone for casual instant messaging and calling, then you should consider this phone. Yet, you can also check out the Samsung Galaxy F13 smartphone as an alternative option for the overall built and faster software update.
